January 12, 2010 Marc Ecko has teamed up with Bobby Razak, one of the top extreme sports directors in the world, to help legalize Mixed Martial Arts in New York and Toronto by collaborating on and releasing a film featuring several prominent MMA fighters such as Miguel Torres, Frank Shamrock, Phillipe Nover and Patrick Cote.
Marc Ecko Enterprises has sponsored notable champions as Miguel Torres, Frank Mir, Dustin Hazelett and Michael Bisping since 2006. Ecko also recently released a tee to help bring awareness to this issue. The tee is available ShopEcko.com.
Soon, lobbyists and industry executives will meet in Albany to try to persuade the Legislature to legalize the popular sport in New York State. Mixed Martial Arts is currently banned in New York and the UFC failed to get it overturned last year. Similar debates have been playing out around the country, as the sport has steadily grown in popularity. The UFC even rolled out a study that proves hosting fights in Buffalo or Manhattan would produce millions of dollars for the cities at a time when the state's economy is staggering under the weight of recession. The fast-growing UFC has retained an influential lobbying firm and deployed top executives to explain the sport to legislators. The claim is that MMA is not as dangerous as critics say and UFC officials even cite a medical study that says MMA is safer than boxing. Stay tuned.

January 4, 2010 Paul Daley knocked out welterweight “McLovin" Dustin Hazelett ” in 2:24 at UFC 108 in Las Vegas Saturday night. The fight was renegotiated as a 172-pound catchweight fight after Daley couldn’t make the 171-pound welterweight limit on Friday. For hardcore American UFC fans, Daley, considered one of the best MMA submission grapplers in any division, was a sure win. The loss is particularly disappointing for Hazelett. It was his second time stepping up in competition and again ended in Hazelett layed out on his back.
